Overview

Fire Extinguishing Pump Control Systems

Damper Electric Drive Control

The fire pump control cabinet includes automated damper cabinet control (supplied as a separate component). The appropriate cabinet model can be selected in the corresponding section of the catalog.

Operating Algorithm:

  • Upon receipt of a "Fire" signal, a command to open the damper is generated;
  • After the damper opens (after a specified time interval), the main pump is started;
  • When the fire extinguishing mode is deactivated, a command to close the damper is received.

Functionality extensions are available upon request. Increasing the number of controlled valves.

Cabinets with two power inputs

Models with a built-in automatic transfer switch
In the event of a power failure (break, voltage drop, incorrect phasing), the system automatically switches from the main input to the backup input. After the main input parameters are restored, the switchover occurs again.

The marking of such cabinets includes the symbol "B".
Example: SHAU-P-380B-21-010-54.

Models without a built-in automatic transfer switch
Each pump is powered from a separate input (e.g., from two distribution panels). The cabinet also features an automatic transfer switch (ATS) for the control circuit.

Such cabinets are marked with the symbol "B2". Example: SHAU-P-380B2-21-010-54.

Cabinets with a jockey pump

Water fire extinguishing systems can be equipped with one or two jockey pumps (one for duty and one for backup). The jockey pump is activated when its pressure switch is triggered.

Operating Features:

  • If the main pressure switch is triggered while the jockey pump is running, the control contacts switch to open the valve, but the jockey pump continues to operate;
  • Before the main pump starts, the jockey pump stops.

Standard parameters of the connected jockey pump:

  • Up to 2.2 kW: 3 x 380 V, 0.5 - 5 A;
  • From 2.2 to 11 kW: 3 x 380 V, 3 - 25 A.

A cabinet with a jockey pump with a power greater than 11 kW can be manufactured upon request.

The designation "Ж1" is added to the marking, where the number indicates the number of jockey pumps and the current range.
Example: ШАУ-П-380Б-21Ж1-010.005-54.

Cabinets with Soft Starter

Frequent direct starting of the electric motor leads to:

  • accelerated insulation aging;
  • overheating of windings;
  • significant reduction in motor service life.

Key facts:

  • starting current during direct connection exceeds the rated current by 6-7 times;
  • a soft starter reduces the starting current to 2-3 times the rated value.

Advantages of a soft starter:

  • minimization of wear on pumping equipment;
  • prevention of water hammer;
  • reduction of the load on the electrical network during start-up.

Cabinets with a soft starter are marked The symbol "P".
Example: SHAU-P-380B-21-010-54P.

Cabinets with a Frequency Converter

Frequency control is used in complex, branched fire extinguishing systems where it is necessary to:

  • limit water intake from the maximum design value;
  • maintain precise pressure in the system;
  • prevent pump operation in high-pressure areas.

Operating Features:

  • The main pump is controlled via a frequency converter (ensures the required capacity, smooth start and stop);
  • The backup pump starts directly from the mains.

The marking includes the "Ч" symbol.
Example: ШАУ-П-380Б-21-025-54Ч.

If the main pump is powered by a frequency converter, and the backup pump is Through a soft starter, the cabinet is marked with the "ChP" symbol.
Example: SHAU-P-380B-21-025-54ChP.

Fire Safety Compliance

Pump control cabinets comply with the technical regulations on fire safety requirements (Federal Law of July 22, 2008, No. 123-FZ, GOST R 53325-2012). The following functions are implemented:

Fire Safety Compliance

Pump control cabinets comply with the technical regulations on fire safety requirements (Federal Law of July 22, 2008, No. 123-FZ, GOST R 53325-2012). The following functions are implemented:

  1. Monitoring of circuits and lines:

    When a fault is detected:

  • Monitoring of control circuits for short circuits and open circuits;
  • Checking of power lines communicating with the electric motor.
  • The "General fault" indicator is activated;
  • The audible alarm is activated;
  • Dispatch contacts are switched.
  1. Protection against unauthorized access to controls.

  2. Alarm signaling  All emergency situations are accompanied by sound alerts.

Expanding the Control Cabinet`s Capabilities: Available Options

The basic cabinet configuration can be supplemented with a number of functional modules, allowing the equipment to be adapted to specific operating requirements. A list of available options is provided below.

1. Communication Modules (Data Transfer)

The following communication protocols are available for integrating the cabinet into monitoring and dispatching systems:

  • ModbusRTU—implemented via the RS-485 interface;
  • ModbusTCP/IP—data transfer via the Ethernet network.

2. Protection Systems

An option is available to connect a PTC sensor with full indication and status monitoring for one electric motor (applicable to SHAU-P models).

3. Climate Performance

Depending on operating conditions, you can choose one of the following climate protection options:

  • UKHL1 is designed for outdoor installation. Operating temperature range: from -60°C to +40°C.
  • UKHL2 is designed for placement under a canopy (out of direct sunlight and precipitation) or in an unheated room. Operating temperature range: from -40°C to +40°C.

4. External Connection Modules (Gate Control)

The following solutions are offered to expand valve control functionality:

  • Control of an additional electric gate valve(without power supply to the valve);
  • Connection of an electric gate valve with power and control(supported voltages: 3x380V or 1x220V).

Note: Valve control and connection options may be repeated in the list, as they are intended for independent addition to different system circuits.
