Control cabinets for fire ventilation systems

SHAU-PV Control Cabinets: Purpose and Operating Principle

The SHAU-PV series cabinets are designed to monitor and regulate the operation of fans in fire-fighting ventilation systems. They control:

The equipment is compatible with standard asynchronous electric motors and operates based on commands received from external control devices.

Operating Algorithm

The device supports two control modes, which can be switched using a toggle switch on the front panel:

  1. Manual Mode
    • Operational control is performed directly from the front panel of the cabinet. The Start/Stop buttons are used to start and stop the fan. The current system status is displayed via LED indicators.
  2. Automatic Mode
    • Fan operation is controlled by external signals coming from:
    • The fan can be activated in automatic mode in two ways:
    • Fire control panel (FCP);
    • Fire alarm control panel (FACP) of any modification;
    • Remote start devices (RSD).
  3. Via an external power source. A control voltage of 24 VDC is supplied to the cabinet terminal block — For example, from the potential output of the control panel or fire alarm control panel.
  4. Using the built-in power supply. 24 V is supplied after closing an external dry contact – for example, through the potential-free output of the control panel/fire alarm control panel or the contacts of the fire alarm control panel.

Motor Stop

The electric motor is switched off in the following situations:

  • when the control voltage is removed from the cabinet terminal block;
  • when the mode switch is moved to the "Lock" position.
